Huffing Face is a very fast mirror of permissively-licensed open-weights models, served from our own datacenter. It exists because we had two absurdly large servers, a 100 Gb link, and impulse control problems.

Point HF_ENDPOINT at us and your existing tooling works unchanged — same files, same revision hashes, same checksums. If we have the file, you get it at whatever speed your pipe embarrasses itself at. If we don't, you're transparently redirected to the source and we quietly huff a copy for the next person.

What we will and won't huff

We only cache models whose licenses permit redistribution (Apache-2.0, MIT, BSD, and friends). Gated or restricted models are never stored here — requests for them pass straight through to Hugging Face, where you can accept whatever terms need accepting. Every mirrored repo serves its original LICENSE file.
